Winter Wonderland + Some Star Love

Yes, my fellow photographer junkies, The Exposed Magazine of Jasmine Star finally arrived! I was literally running back to my apartment when I saw an oversized envelope crammed in my tiny box. It was quite a sight...me in a huge snow jacket...hood still on...with slippery gloves...yanking and pulling on this magazine in the mail. I really would have liked to see the mail man put that envelope in there because it was a pretty big struggle to get it out!

You would think I would have read the whole thing so far, but no...unfortunately. I am waiting for a good time to sit down and soak everything in that Jasmine has to say!
Anyways, getting that in the mail was the icing on top of the cupcake to my day of snow and a white chocolate mocha!

Thank you, Jasmine Star for sharing your amazing advice, hardships, and success with all of us striving photographers!

The Guinns: Family Session

Oh my goodness! This family is so fun and full of excitement! When I was in middle/high school Dave Jr. was my youth pastor and just recently (i think almost a year ago or more...i may be wrong) they moved back from Florida! I was so excited when Kara asked me to do there portraits, and let me tell you it was a session that we were determined to have. We had some difficulty scheduling but I think the day we had couldn't have been a better day to capture some family love! It was warm and the sun was shining full force. I had a blast and I hope you guys enjoy a glimpse of this fun lovin' family! :)

...and a CONGRATULATIONS is in order for Miss Heather Guinn on her engagement! So happy for you!

Thanksgiving break was amazing! I got to see my friends (not all...miss you Caitlin!) but I wish I could have seen them more! Although Thanksgiving day was completely different from the last years with a whole different set of people and a lot of missing people, it was still fun! Katie and I entertained ourselves by playing a childhood game that we played all the time when we were little. Oh, and the food was amazing! Momma's potatoe casserole is amazing. This is the only time of year we get to eat it because it is about 1000 calories a bite! (YIKES) Although it was a bit different this year it made me so ready for the holidays and Christmas time! Only THREE WEEKS left of school and then I am home for a month! woot woot

My Thanksgiving week went a little like this:

Sunday: Church, lunch with Heather at Shanes, and dinner at Westin's grandmother's house! mmm yummy!

Monday: Craft shopping with Oma :)

Tuesday: Shopping with mom, which lead to starbucks! I got the cinnamon dolce latte!!! I highly recommend a try (it was a great taste for the holiday season). Later that day Katie came home!

Wednesday: So, usually Steve's (our favorite hangout place) is closed an unusual amount on the holidays, but we were happy to catch them before closing!
Mo Mo had knee surgery! Isn't she cute when she is all hurt and pitiful looking :) hehe

Thursday: I had Thanksgiving lunch with my family and had a lot of fun playing Pictionary and eating yummy food!

Then I went over to Westin's grandmother's house for dinner!
...and this little guy was waiting for me :)

Meet Bandit (name given by the Haas family: now the proud owners of this ball of fur)

I got to kitty sit on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday! This little guy would play and play and play, then he would pass out wherever he was sitting. His favorite spot to sleep was up on my shoulder or he would curl around my neck! He is so cute! I am glad I will be seeing him around!

Ethan- Senior

I cannot believe Ethan is a senior. How did the time fly so fast? Ethan is supposed to be this little boy racing to be the first cousin to open Christmas presents during Christmas time. Now, Ethan is all grown up! I cannot believe it!

This shoot took place in a short time slot of his sister's bridal shoot (yes, i said it...bridal shoot...can't believe that either) for his mom to have some pictures of him in during his senior year. We were at my Papa's house where he worked all summer, so I thought that was really fitting for him!

Weekend Getaway: Blowing Rock

I love cabins. The smell of fresh air, the beautiful mountain scenery just makes cabins that much better. I'm so thankful for being in such a close, loving family that we can do this! I hope you enjoy the pictures as much as I enjoyed the whole weekend!

I had to get some ring shots so i stole my mom's ring for a while and played around with it :)
