The Journey...

For the past year my mind often, and when I say often it means every day, wonders about where I will be in the next 5 years. One of my biggest concerns is not knowing the future. I like planning and knowing everything that is going to happen, and having a sense of unknown scares me, a lot. I look at so many successful, intelligent, amazing people who have amazing jobs and families, and I think about what it was like to get to the place where they are now. Was it what they had planned? Did they fail? Did they try again after they failed? How did they do so well in the end? So many questions and thoughts run through my head that it is no wonder I forget as much as I do. Well, it is about time to put my thoughts to good use and blog about it! :)

I usually joke about it, but my addiction is looking at blogs. I love blogs, blogs, blogs! It's where I get my inspiration to work harder and learn more about photography. Today when I look at what all I have to learn, I feel so overwhelmed that I have no idea where to start. Then suddenly my mind goes through all the things I could be doing instead of feeling overwhelmed and there I am again, feeling overwhelmed. Well, God has a way of letting you know everything is going to be just fine. I recently bought the book "Jesus Calling" by Sarah Young, and I have grown to love it more and more every day. Today confirmed exactly what I love about this book. It has a strange and amazing way of being exactly what I need to hear on the exact day.

It is 1 o'clock in the morning and I am writing this because I cannot get it out of my head. I had just hung up the phone with Wes and I was telling him about how I felt about my future in photography and that whatever God wants is what will be. This is amazing. I open my book and it's the devotion for February 26th. This is what it says, word for word:

"I am leading you , step by step, through your life. Hold My hand in trusting dependence, letting Me guide you through this day. Your future looks uncertain and feels flimsy -- even precarious. That is how it should be. Secret things belong tot he Lord, and future things are secret things. When you try to figure out the future, you are grasping at the things that are Mine. This, like all forms of worry, is an act of rebellion: doubting My promises to care for you.
Whenever you find yourself worrying about the future, repent and return to Me. I will show you the next step forward, and the one after that, and the one after that. Relax and enjoy the journey in My Presence, trusting Me to open up the way before you as you go."

Edd & Erin: Tie the Knot

It's about time I got these up on the blog! The only unfortunate thing is I only have shots of the Erin getting ready and one from the reception. But other than having a limited amount of pictures, I am really excited to post these pictures! Erin was such a beautiful bride! She is probably the perfect depiction of a barbie bride! It was such a blessing to photograph such a beautiful wedding! Maybe sooner or later I can get some of the ceremony for you to see!

I love the details of the ring!

This veil was so beautiful and special. It was actually Erin's mom's veil!
I love the lacy detailing on the edges!

This one is my absolute favorite of the whole evening! She was so angelic and such a beautiful bride!

Such a sweet moment between mother and daughter!

Here is the one picture from the reception!

The Beautimous Boone!

One of my goals for this month was to visit Olivia in Boone, and I got it checked off my list last weekend! I absolutely love the places you can fin in the small town of Boone. I can't wait to live there and be able to explore everything!

Me and Wes got a chance to go exploring and we went to Hartleys Knob on the top of a hill. It was the perfect time of day to be there. The sun was at a perfect height and even though it was windy and freezing, it honestly went away when I saw these pictures through my camera lens!

That little dare devil :)
I love his adventurous side! It was even more windy at this spot and I felt like I was going to blow away, and he wants to climbing on a tree limb hanging off the side of a mountain! He's crazy! :)

Happy Valentines Day!

I love Valentines Day!
I am currently wearing pink, wearing pearls, love shack perfume and I am feeling amazingly girly!
I feel like Valentines Day gives you the best opportunity to feel this way!
I cant wait to go to dinner tonight with Westin!
I love you! Will you be my valentine? :)

The Poole Family: Modern Family

Before the day of the shoot I had talked to Robyn on the phone a couple times and every time I talked with her I just knew this shoot was going to be fun and exciting! The day of the shoot, the sun was beaming and it felt so amazing outside.
It was like a perfect spring day with just the right amount of breeze but enough warmth from the sun to go outside without out a jacket. As soon as we arrived at the park where the photos were taken, Robyn's dogs, Capone and Trigger, were bursting with energy and ready to roam!
Robyn brought her son, daughter, and grandchildren. Together they could make their own Modern Family show! Needless to say they were an awesome group to shoot and I had so much fun. Enjoy!

I absolutely love photographing dogs! I could do that for the rest of my life and be happy!
